In one high-energy day, teams build a real four-wheel robot car, program it with Arduino, and teach it to drive an obstacle course on its own — ending in a live head-to-head race. No experience needed. The robot car is theirs to keep.

What You'll Build

The best toy is one you built yourself.

Every team starts with a box of parts and finishes with a working autonomous robot car — a genuinely fun toy that happens to run on the same tools real engineers use: an Arduino UNO R3 brain, a motor-driver shield, four driven wheels, and sensors that let it see the world.

01 / Drivetrain

4-wheel drive

Four DC motors and an acrylic chassis the team assembles from scratch — a car that really moves.

02 / Brain

Arduino UNO R3

The microcontroller that runs the code. Write it, upload it over USB, watch the robot obey.

03 / Senses

Ultrasonic + servo

A distance sensor on a scanning servo lets the car detect obstacles and look left and right.

04 / Autonomy

Its own decisions

Sense → think → act. The car drives, spots a wall, decides, and steers around it — no remote.

The Day

Six hours, six milestones, one finish line.

Each hour ends on a working win — a rolling chassis, a car that moves, a car that senses, a car that thinks for itself. Momentum all day, straight into the race.
Hour 01Build

Intro to Robotics

Meet the five parts of a robot and the Sense–Think–Act loop. Unbox, mount the motors, roll the chassis.

Hour 02Drive

Motor Control & Movement

Wire it up, upload the first sketch. Forward, reverse, turn, stop — on command from your own code.

Hour 03Sense

Sensors & Detection

Add the ultrasonic sensor. The car now measures distance and reacts before it hits anything.

Hour 04Think

Autonomous Navigation

Combine driving, sensing, and logic. The car scans, decides, and steers around obstacles by itself.

Hour 05Tune

Test, Tune & Improve

The real engineering: test, fail, fix, retest. Dial in speed, turns, and stop distance for a clean run.

Hour 06Race

The Obstacle Challenge

Head-to-head runs through the course, then awards — fastest, most reliable, best teamwork, best overall.

14+ days before

Full refund, no questions asked. Contact us and we will process it back to your original payment method within 5 business days.

7–13 days before

Transfer your seat to any future build day at no cost, or take a 50% refund. Seats may also be transferred to another student.

Under 7 days

Kits are ordered and lunch is booked, so refunds are not available. You may still transfer the seat to another student at any time before the session starts.

If GlobalDWS cancels or reschedules a session for any reason, you receive a full refund or a free transfer to another date, whichever you prefer. Questions: get in touch.
